The Ambrosia Publishing Weekly Recap for June 29th

Two For The Road Emailed contracts this week for two projects which may be published at Ambrosia Publishing. One is a sci-fi/film noir project; the other is horror based. I love my horror but I do hope to publish in other genres. Last thing I want is have AP pigeon holed as just publishing horror.

Two For The Road Redux Turns out SMUGGLING SPIRITS will be coming out as two graphic novels instead of one as originally planned. There are a couple of reasons why we’re going with the new printing idea. The main reason is price. In today’s market, we would stand a better chance of selling more copies if our book had a lower price point. If we published the single volume, it would’ve been priced above $12 which some people would scoff at. But by coming out with two volumes priced under $7, retailers and customers alike will be apt to try one- if not- both volumes. SMUGGLING SPIRITS is still scheduled to be published this fall in time for Halloween season.

In a continuing effort to get the Ambrosia Publishing name out there, I present to you the Ambrosia Publishing Network courtesy of Ning, a new-ish social network Web 2.0 thing.

What’s cool about this is people can share pics, start a blog, post in a forum, and such. This makes it possible for people who dig the work put out by Ambrosia Publishing to socialize and turn others on to new stuff, etc.

So head on over, let people know who you are, and let’s see what happens.

The Toronto Comicon starts tomorrow and it will mark the official launch of Ambrosia Publishing’s Summer Con Tour. We’ll start with the Toronto Comicon this coming weekend and end with the Comic Book Expo also in Toronto in late August.

So I’m in preparation mode: getting things packed, making sure I’ve got everything including my favorite issues of GRENDEL for one of my all-time favorite comic gods, Matt Wagner, to hopefully sign at the show, and such.

If you’re at the show, be sure to stop by my table (AA66) and say ‘Hi’ or whatever you like.
